When Douglas and his wife, Christie, embarked on their move from New Mexico to Wellesley in January 2019, the first thing Douglas did was attend a church stewardship party, where he knew no one, on a cold, snowy night. Christie, who had accepted a job as director of development at the Dana Hall School, needed to wrap up loose ends before coming east, but Douglas decided to introduce himself. The rest was history. Christie joined the church choir, and Douglas accepted a position at the church to oversee the church property, a role that suits him well after two decades working in corporate finance. His past experience includes oversight of facilities and teaching history.
Douglas, who was born in Taiwan, grew up in the Washington, D.C., area. Church has been an important part of Douglas’ life, having been active as a volunteer, a treasurer and a board member of churches he belonged to in Texas, Vermont, and New Mexico. He and his wife have two grown sons. Douglas has recently taken up classical guitar and enjoys the Village Church Men’s Book Group.
