At Village Church we treasure our partnerships with other faith communities.
Since 1997 we have enjoyed a rich multi-dimensional partnership with The Historic Charles Street African Methodist Episcopal Church in Roxbury. The congregation is served by The Rev. Dr. Gregory Groover, a distinguished leader in Boston and a beloved friend of Village Church. Through the years members of both congregations have worshipped together, gathered in small groups for study and fellowship, and joined in service to the wider community. A highlight of the year is our annual Sharing the Dream service, held each January, when our congregations join for worship in celebration of the life and ministry of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Since 2002 we have been greatly enriched by a partnership with Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, which was cited by Newsweek magazine as one of the most vital synagogues in the country. Temple Beth Elohim is led by Rabbi Joel Sisenwine, a great friend of Village Church and a popular guest preacher at our services. Through the years the two congregations have gathered for a wide variety of opportunities for study and service.
